The brief was to design new offices for this rapidly growing business located outside Scarborough. Staff work long hours over different time zones and the requirements of the business constantly change as the business grows.
The client wanted the office to be open but with smaller enclosed spaces for staff to gather for formal and informal meetings. This project involved design, project management, budget control, and sourcing of office furniture and fittings.
Working closely with the client and the developer meant we were able to keep abreast of the changing requirements as the business evolved.
We decided to use glass walls to keep the office space as light and airy as possible. Informal break out areas were created by using planters, whereas enclosed glass meeting rooms allow for more private meeting/working areas. The spaces are designed in such a way that they can be adapted with flexibility.
A gym and a large recreational room were created for the wellbeing of the staff.
